The Profile

Start with a Profile.

Not every story needs a whole book. A Profile captures the heart of yours in one or two conversations, written in your own words and printed for the family.

Two sizes

One conversation

A single story

Sometimes one story matters above all the others: the day it all began, the year it nearly went under, or how you met. We record it in a single conversation and present it, with a photograph or two, as a short printed piece for the family.

Two conversations

A full Profile

Over two conversations we write a portrait of you in your own words, covering where you come from, what you built and what you would want the next generation to know. It runs to about five thousand words and is printed with your photographs as a hand-sewn booklet, with ten copies for the family.

Every Profile ends with a page we call The stories we didn't have room for, which lists the threads our conversations opened but could not follow. Many families go on to the full memoir from there.

Who it suits

The Profile suits people who would like to begin with something shorter, families looking for a gift for an 80th or 90th birthday, and anyone working to a smaller budget.

This season we are working with three founding families.

Pricing

Every Profile is priced individually. After our first conversation I will suggest what would suit you and confirm a fixed price.

If you later go on to the memoir, what you have paid for the Profile comes off its price.
